Founded in 1985, Mintier Harnish specializes in land use planning, including general plans, zoning codes, housing elements, specific plans, design standards and guidelines, and special planning studies. Associate 

The Associate position is a mid-level position that requires a deep understanding of urban planning principles, local governmental organizations and procedures, California planning law, CEQA, planning and environmental theory and practice, and excellent research and writing skills. This position requires that applicants have the ability to work independently, collaboratively, as well as manage small-scale planning projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop, and ArcMap GIS is required. Experience in general plan and specific plan preparation is desirable. Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in urban planning or closely-related field, or a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or closely-related field and at least three years of planning-related experience. Accredited Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree programs are preferred.

Planner

The Planner position requires an understanding of urban planning principles, local governmental organizations and procedures, California planning law, planning and environmental theory and practice, and excellent research and writing skills. This position requires that applicants have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop, and ArcMap GIS is required. Assistant Planner

The Planner position is an entry level position that requires an understanding of urban planning principles, California planning law, and familiarity with local governmental organizations and procedures. Strong research, analysis, writing, organization, and communication skills is a must. Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign/Photoshop, and ArcMap GIS is required. Experience in general plan and zoning code preparation is desirable but not required. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in planning or closely-related field.
