Project Description

Mintier Harnish, working with Rincon Consultants, assisted the City of American Canyon in the preparation of it Housing Element Update and Technical General Plan Update. Mintier Harnish provided an evaluation of the City’s 5th Cycle Housing Element, facilitated workshops and Planning Commission and City Council study sessions, and prepared the 2023-2031 Housing Element Policy Document. Implementation programs within the Draft Policy Document focus on incentivizing affordable housing development, supporting and encouraging special needs housing, engaging and informing the public, and expanding housing opportunities throughout the City. The Housing Element was adopted January 31, 2023, and certified by HCD on June 30, 2023.

Interesting Facts

The Housing Element showed the City had capacity to facilitate its entire share of the regional housing need through planned or approved projects.
