Galt 2021-2029 Housing Element Update

Mintier Harnish assisted the City of Galt in the preparation of their 6th Cycle Housing Element. The project kicked off in December 2021 with initial community outreach and engagement and moved through the housing needs and constraints analyses and site selection process. Issues in the City include aging housing stock, traditional low density residential development, and a lack of financial resources to incentivize affordable housing construction. Mintier Harnish worked with State-funded technical assistance efforts to prepare an Affirmatively Further Fair Housing analysis and coordinated closely with SACOG and HCD to assure compliance with State housing requirements and Housing element certification. The Mintier Harnish team managed coordination with HCD during multiple rounds of review and prepared materials summarizing State-requested revisions to the document for decision-makers. The Housing Element was certified by HCD on May 12, 2022.
