Susanville 2024-2029 Housing Element Update

Mintier Harnish is currently leading the City’s 7th cycle Housing Element Update, which plans for housing needs through 2029. The project included robust community engagement, including workshops, surveys, a project website, and study sessions with the City Council. Key issues in the City include sewer system deficiencies and contraints that limit realistic capacity, aging hotel and motel uses and potential conversion to SROs, and the challenges of a tourism-based economy with an aging historic main street.

The Housing Element Update includes updates to the Community Character; Open Space, Recreation, Parks, and Childcare; Safety; and Noise Elements of the General Plan.
